Case Studies:

""

The Castle Museum at York..

had a set of concrete steps where there was a potential danger of visitors to the Museum banging their heads on the concrete steps and after discussions with Geoff Heckles at the museum we made a protective soft pad with a bright contrasting edge to alert people of the potential hazard, yet at the same time giving adequate protection should anyone still bump into it.

The Manchester Climbing Centre..

needed safety mats to protect climbers using the bouldering area, where the climbers are ‘free-climbing’ (without using climbing ropes) and yet they wanted the area to be aesthetic to the eye.

We made an area of safety mats with a soft foam base topped with a stiffer layer of foam to give a more stable surface when landing and covered the whole area with a layer of attractive carpet.

Two pillars within the area were also fitted with soft padding to give protection should anyone fall against the pillars.

which could not have a dedicated sensory room asked if we could make a portable sensory centre containing several sensory items.

We made a unit which has a bubble tube, a UV blacklight box complete with a range of items which ‘glow’ under the blacklight and a set of fibreoptic strands which constantly change colour.

The unit has attractive mirrors on two sides and it mounted on castors for easy movement between areas.
